The route

The Riolan is traversed through a very narrow gorge, between enormous collapsed blocks that must be negotiated, circumvented or crossed. The long aquatic corridors require numerous swims, punctuated by rapids and small rappel sections. Expect 4 to 5 hours in the canyon: an engaging outing, reserved for those in good physical condition, and one of the most breathtaking in the department.

Location and access

La Clue du Riolan is located in the Estéron valley, near the village of Roquesteron. From Nice: follow the valley of the Var along the RN 6202 until the Charles-Albert bridge, then turn left and continue to Roquesteron via the RD 17. An 8 km shuttle connects the exit with the canyon.
